The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, in its Investment Guidelines, stated two principles with regard to the stewardship of investments, which guide the management and structure of the Epiphany Faith and Family Values 100 Fund.
First there is financial stewardship, which means obtaining a reasonable rate of return on investments, consistent with the returns of the overall market.
Second, there is ethical and social stewardship, which involves the prudent application of Catholic moral teaching and the duty to avoid or minimize scandal and material cooperation with evil in our investments. This includes the strategy of active corporate participation with the goal of influencing corporate culture to be more sensitive to the themes of Catholic Social Doctrine.
Investments in mutual funds involve risks. Past performance does not guarantee future results. An investor's return and principal value will fluctuate so that an investor's shares, when redeemed, may be more or less than their original cost.
